We are looking for a talented Design Engineer to join our team and collaborate closely with two senior Product Designers. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping the future of Skillup's user interfaces and user experiences, with a technical ownership on our design system. You will bridge the gap between design and engineering, bringing ideas to life through rapid prototyping and ensuring robust, scalable implementation. Finally, you will experiment with modern AI-enhanced UX paradigms rich input, intelligent suggestions, predictive assistance, smart search and previews.

Missions

  • Work closely with our two senior product designers to conceptualize, prototype, and implement innovative UI/UX solutions.

  • Own the technical implementation of our design system. You will enforce consistency by integrating the guidelines into the components, document it, and train our engineers on how to use it best.

  • Explore, prototype, and implement cutting-edge AI-enhanced features such as suggestion systems, dynamic canvases, and real-time interactive previews.

  • Act as a liaison between design and engineering teams, facilitating smooth transitions from design concepts and prototypes to fully functional products.

  • Help designers create a monitoring strategy and provide tooling to feature teams so that they can measure and experiment where needed.

Profil recherché

Background & experiences

  • You have 6+ years of experience as a front-end engineer.

  • You’ve worked extensively with React or a similar front-end library.

  • You already built and owned proprietary design systems.

  • You have your own vision of what a front-end software architecture should be.

    Who You Are

Experienced in front-end engineering, with solid skills in JavaScript, React, and CSS.

  • Opiniated in quality attributes such as accessibility and performance.

  • Experienced and comfortable managing and evolving design systems to support a good developer experience and consistency, as well as using commonly related tools like Storybook.

  • Passionate about modern UI/UX, particularly enthusiastic about integrating AI capabilities into intuitive and engaging user experiences.

  • Collaborative, communicative, and proactive in working cross-functionally with design and development teams.

  • Experienced in prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Framer, Storybook) as well interested as the recent AI enhanced UX features (v0, Cursor, Windsurf…).
