Job Description

  • Responsibilities:

    • Implement, and maintain UI/UX features and underlying systems with Common UI that meet ambitious creative and technical requirements.
    • Act as a dedicated mentor and daily resource for junior and intermediate programmers, providing guidance, knowledge transfer, and support to accelerate their professional development.
    • Contribute significantly to team-level technical discussions regarding implementation methods, tools, and workflow.
  • Team composition: The team has 4 members, we will have in total 5 member now. title will be: Senior/Principal GPP - UI

  • Team work: With UI/UX Design, Game design and GPP Systems. It may require to synch with other GPPs and engine programming team.

We’re looking for an experienced UI programmer with a strong expertise in Unreal Engines UI systems and who’s capable of driving technical choice when given the opportunity. This person will work closely with other teams to understand their needs, contribute to architectural decisions, and develop robust, scalable solutions..

Core Mandate (3 main missions)

  • Develop, optimize and maintain gameplay UI features and underlying systems related to it.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and GPP Systems to implement UI interface in the game.

  • Mentor junior programmers, fostering best practices in UI system development and contribute to team level architectural decisions.

Success Criteria (What are we expecting from you in the next months)

  • Delivers at least one feature with a high level of technical quality and clear technical and user documentations

  • Demonstrates deep Unreal Engine expertise and actively supports the UI team by sharing knowledge and best practices

  • Demonstrates strong independent problem-solving skills, efficiently diagnosing and fixing complex bugs.

Hard skills

  • Mandatory (if a candidate doesn’t have it in his/her background, the hiring process will not continue)

    • Excellent C++ programming expertise
    • Proficiency in Unreal Engine, with hands-on experience in developing and shipping features
    • At least 6 years as a gameplay programmer, with proven experience (atleast 2+ years) in UI Gameplay Programmer role.
    • Knowledge of Unreal Engine’s UI systems.
    • Comfortable with profiling tools to identify and fix bottlenecks
  • Nice to have (if the candidate doesn’t have it, we can continue the hiring process)

    • Technical knowledge on material and shaders.
    • Knowledge of Unreal Engine Common UI.

1. First conversation (20 min) by video call with Arthur (Recruiter) and Tushar (Lead Tech): To learn more about your experience, your expectations and Novaquark

2. Technical Test (sent 30min before the Technical Interview): To assess your skills

3. Technical Interview (1 hour) with Vincent (Lead GPP), Gergely (Senior UI Programmer) and Tushar (Lead Tech): To meet your future manager and to go deeper in our current context
