Job Description

Role Summary

As we push toward the finish line, we need a seasoned Senior Platform Programmer to act as our console guardian. Your primary mission is to maintain and test our console builds, ensuring they don't just run, but thrive on next-gen hardware. You will be the point person for identifying platform-specific bottlenecks, upgrading SDKs, and guiding our QA team through the rigorous certification process. Beyond maintenance, you’ll empower the rest of the studio by providing the tools and optimizations necessary to meet strict shipping requirements.

You will be joining the 3-person Unreal Team which, together with the Animation Programming and Rendeirng teams, form the Engine feature team, working alongside our engine/animation and rendering specialists.

You will be the bridge between the Tech and QA departments, while providing cross-functional support to Art and Design to ensure their content fits within console constraints.

We are looking for a platform specialist who lives and breathes console architecture—someone who can dive deep into a crash dump one hour and mentor the team on Xbox/PS5 certification standards the next.

Core Mandate (3 main missions)

  • Build Integrity & Stability: Ensure on a daily basis that game builds are functional, optimized, and running correctly across all targeted consoles.

  • Platform Troubleshooting: Provide expert support for any console-specific issues, acting as the final line of defense for platform-related crashes or bugs.

  • Optimization & Knowledge Sharing: Develop console-specific optimizations (CPU/GPU/IO) and proactively spread platform knowledge across the studio to prevent technical debt.

Success Criteria (What are we expecting from this person in the next months)

  • Certification Readiness: Successfully guide the project through the Game Pass certification process with minimal friction.

  • Infrastructure Modernization: Successfully update the project to the latest SDK versions and integrate the console build process into our CI/CD pipeline.

  • Stability & Testing: Achieve a significant reduction in platform-specific crashes and implement a suite of console-specific automated tests.
