Job Description

  • Responsibilities:

    • Implement, and maintain high-performance 3C features and underlying systems (e.g., new player weapon, locomotion, camera improvements) that meet ambitious creative and technical requirements.
    • Contribute to team-level technical discussions regarding implementation methods, tools, and workflow.
  • Team composition: The team has 4 members, title will be: Intermediate GPP - 3C

  • Team work: Mostly with design, but with other GPP teams and animation team as well

We’re looking for a highly capable 3C programmer with proven implementation experience in Unreal Engine and ready to take ownership of significant 3C features. This person will be responsible for translating high-level design concepts into robust, optimized game code.

Core Mandate (3 main missions)

  • Collaborate with designers, animators and FX artists to implement and fine-tune Character, Controls, and Camera (3C), ensuring fluid and responsive player interactions.

  • Participate in improving our code base by following our processes (technical documentation, peer reviews, etc) and be proactively suggesting improvements.

  • Become familiar with the project and the codebase in order to be become the owner of several 3C related topics.

Success Criteria (What are we expecting from you in the next months)

  • Delivers at least one feature with a high level of technical quality and clear technical and user documentations

  • Demonstrates Unreal Engine expertise and actively supports the 3C team by sharing knowledge and best practices

  • Demonstrates strong independent problem-solving skills, efficiently diagnosing and fixing bugs.

Hard skills

  • Mandatory (if a candidate doesn’t have it in his/her background, the hiring process will not continue)

    • Strong C++ programming expertise
    • Strong competence in Unreal Engine, with hands-on experience in developing and shipping features
    • At least two years of experience as a gameplay programmer during which some 3C topics where addressed
  • Nice to have (if the candidate doesn’t have it, we can continue the hiring process)

    • Experience contributing to multiplayer projects developed in Unreal Engine
    • Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine’s Gameplay Ability System (GAS)

Recruitment Process

1. First conversation (20 min) by video call with Arthur (Recruiter) and Tushar (Lead Tech): To learn more about your experience, your expectations and Novaquark

2. Technical Test (sent 30min before the Technical Interview): To assess your skills

3. Technical Interview (1 hour) with Vincent (Lead GPP) and Théo (Associate Lead 3C Programmer): To meet your future manager and to go deeper in our current context
