We also have a mandatory meeting every three weeks, on Mondays, to discuss the progress of our internal projects.

Job Description

Role Summary (Why we need this person ?)

  • Responsibilities: Realistic Lighting within a vibrant world set in India. Creating natural lighting for different weather conditions. Directing the player both naturally and emotionally with story telling through lighting. Shaping lighting aesthetics across the project including in-game and cutscene lighting

  • Team composition: 1 Senior Lighting Artist

  • Team work: With which team you will work mainly VFX, Environment Art, Art Direction

We are looking for a lead lighting artist to help bring our epic landscapes to life while guiding the players in-game and emotional journey throughout. As a Lead artist you will work closely with the direction team bringing your expertise and knowledge to ensure a balance of beautiful and well optimised results that match the tone of our Indian adventure.

Core Mandate (3 main missions)

  • Collaborate with direction to set the tone, mood and visual storytelling through lighting for the project set in a vibrant ancient India

  • Working with Unreal Engine 5 to create vibrant world lighting and atmospherics to match different weather conditions

  • Guiding the team, feedback and collaboration to ensure a balance between quality and optimisation for the selected release platforms

Success Criteria (What are we expecting from this person in the next months)

  • Review current pipeline and ideas and sanity check propositions for production

  • Initial golden path lighting passes for available maps

  • Systems and solutions as part of the environmental and light storytelling in the game

  • Working with other departments to ensure the best quality settings for each release platform

Recruitment Process

1. First conversation (20 min) by video call with Arthur (Recruiter): To learn more about your experience, your expectations and Tara Gaming/Novaquark

2. Hiring Manager interview (1 hour) with David (Associate Art Director (VFX) and Dmitrii (Senior Lighting Artist): To meet your future manager and to go deeper in our current context
