Novaquark is dedicated to bringing people from across the globe together to breathe life into worlds of their own making. Our first game, Dual Universe, grandly showcases the power of next-generation voxels. Why do we need an Associate Lead Game Designer ?

As we develop a AAA mythology-inspired action-adventure game, we need an Associate Lead Game Designer to help shape the core gameplay experience. From combat mechanics and progression systems to world interactions, your role will be crucial in guiding design teams, ensuring gameplay depth, and maintaining alignment with the creative vision.

Your future team

You will join a project with 100 people (Gameplay Programmers, Designers, Artists, etc.) from multiple countries (Europe, Canada, USA...). The team is set to grow in the future!

All designers are supervised by Francisc (Design Director) and you will work closely with him.

🎮 Gameplay System Development – Design and refine engaging gameplay systems, ensuring they provide meaningful player experiences and align with the game’s vision.

🤝 Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration – Work closely with designers, artists, and engineers in a Feature Team environment to develop and iterate on mechanics, ensuring seamless integration across disciplines.

⚖️ Balance & Game Feel – Analyze, test, and adjust gameplay features, focusing on combat mechanics, player progression, and interactive systems to maximize engagement.

🚀 Leadership & Mentorship – Guide and mentor junior and mid-level designers, ensuring a high standard of design quality, documentation, and implementation.

📊 Iteration & Player Feedback – Use data, internal playtests, and player insights to iterate on game systems, continuously refining mechanics for the best player experience.

2. Hiring Manager interview (1 hour) via video call with Francisc (Design Director) and Baptiste (Lead Game Designer): To assess your technical skills
