En 2019, AXA Climate a vu le jour pour aider les acteurs privés et publics à s’adapter aux enjeux climatiques et environnementaux. À l’époque, nous les soutenions en cas d’aléas climatiques, grâce à des assurances paramétriques. Aujourd’hui, nous sommes plus de 250 et nous les accompagnons, grâce à des produits d’assurance, de la formation, du conseil et des outils spécialisés.

En 5 ans, nous avons réalisé que réduire l’adaptation à la seule maîtrise des risques est une impasse.

S’adapter, c’est accepter une vision systémique des risques (environnementaux et sociaux), dans leur interdépendance. S’adapter, c’est accepter les réalités locales, dans leur singularité. S’adapter, c’est choisir la coopération entre acteurs, au-delà des intérêts de chacun. S’adapter, c’est une nécessité pour préserver la viabilité de nos territoires, et de nos entreprises.

C’est pour servir cette vision que nous articulons nos différents métiers, avec nos scientifiques :

+6 millions de collaborateurs ont été formés aux enjeux environnementaux, grâce à nos +40 heures de contenus digitaux de formation. Ils peuvent adapter leurs compétences, pour mieux accompagner la transition de leurs entreprises.

+100 000 sites industriels, parcelles agricoles ou collectivités publiques ont été analysés et leurs risques climatiques et environnementaux à 2030 et 2050 identifiés. Les acteurs locaux peuvent dès lors adapter leurs pratiques, en lien avec leurs territoires.

En -5 minutes, nos clients ont accès à nos données scientifiques et financières, grâce à notre suite d’outils Altitude. Ils sont autonomes pour mettre en place leurs plans d’adaptation, sur le climat, la biodiversité et le carbone.

+1 000 indemnisations ont été versées, en quelques heures seulement, à des agriculteurs, des entreprises et des populations vulnérables affectés par les aléas climatiques, grâce à nos assurances paramétriques. Ils peuvent s’adapter, car ils sont assurés.

AXA Climate and Altitude

AXA Climate has 4 business units to support its clients and partners, based on expertise: Insurance, Training, Consulting and SaaS products. Globally, we are a team of +200 climate experts headquartered in Paris, spread over 5 continents and driven by the same desire for impact. Our purpose is to help Planet Earth become a true stakeholder of all companies in the same way that employees, customers and shareholders are!

Altitude is the brand of our SaaS business. Our purpose is Adaptation. We build solutions, for decision makers, to enable climate and environmental adaptation. Our products are tailor-made for each persona: Private Equity firms, Agricultural cooperative... We are 25+ people working on it: product managers, designers, engineers, business developers, etc.

We are autonomous within AXA Climate, but we work closely with the consulting teams dedicated to Financial Services and Agri sectors. We strongly believe that success is collective and we play as one team.

Altitude Finance

Altitude for Finance is our first Altitude product, launched in September 2022. It is a platform dedicated for Infrastructure and Private Equity funds, enabling risk screening in pre-acquisition Due-Diligence, and enabling portfolio monitoring for reporting (such as TCFD, SFDR, Art 29 LEC). It is an innovative one-stop-shop for sustainability and investment teams, screening climate and nature-related risks and opportunities within minutes, very easy to use, and fully automated.

During first year we signed +50 clients, in Europe and in the USA. It’s time for step 2, as we are planning to triple that in 2025.

Your mission as a Software Engineer in Altitude Finance

We are looking for new engineers to grow the Altitude for Finance team!

As a Software Engineer in the Altitude for Finance team, you will solve challenging technical problems and build new features for the platform, in frontend and backend, to help major decisioners understand how to adapt to and mitigate climate change.

Your mission also includes :

  • Working with the data engineering team to ensure geospatial models are efficiently served in production, providing insights on climate risks worldwide

  • Working with the product managers and UI/UX designers to provide an exceptional experience to the users who are assessing risks for their assets

  • Help shape the evolution of our technical platform and engineering efficiency, together with the other engineering teams

The team is based in Paris.

Profil recherché

You will thrive in this role if most of this sounds like you :

  • Strong interest for climate, sustainability, and science

  • Product mindset, thriving to find simple solutions to solve problems

  • Fantastic team player, with whom it is amazing to work alongside

  • A strong engineering background (Masters in engineering or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience at tech and product-driven companies

  • Proficient in web engineering with Typescript and React

  • Skilled in cloud development, especially with AWS

  • Fluent in English and French

Additionally, the following skills would be a plus :

  • Experience working with a serverless stack

  • Experience working with event-sourced systems
